Orange Radio is a radio station streaming from Los Angeles & beyond. Started in 2016, they have become a global, community-driven space for sharing diverse voices and media.
When iI began working with Orange Radio, they had a large community, engaging programing, and a lo-fi vibe that was reminiscent of early 2000 net art.
I wanted to preserve the vibe, but give Orange Radio a space to grow and expand their following and programming. I designed the interface inspired by the Windows 95 interface. The background uses imagery that resembles Riso printing to symbol at the craft that goes into programming.
I developed the site to function in a familiar pattern as that of Windows where all content lives in windows that can be on screen or be dismissed and reintroduced using the "Start" menu.
