Uber’s guidelines were developed to help make every experience feel safe, respectful, and positive. Everyone who uses Uber’s Marketplace Platform—including drivers, riders, delivery people, Uber Eats users, delivery recipients, senders, merchants, and businesses—is expected to follow the guidelines.

Challenge

Uber needed a way to communicate safety guidelines across its Marketplace Platform, covering drivers, riders, delivery personnel, merchants, and businesses. The goal was to make the content clear, educational, and approachable while reflecting Uber’s brand values. The challenge was delivering a divergent, engaging experience within an agile timeline using existing design system components.

Approach

I collaborated with marketing and product teams to define a content strategy that highlighted the different pillars of safety. We mapped out which components could be leveraged or pushed visually while minimizing development turnaround. The design balanced text-based guidance with visual storytelling elements to create an informative yet approachable experience.
